Today’s #ITV7 races

14:20 Haydock 10 Jun 2017

Betway Sprint Handicap (Class 4) (3YO only)

MAAKAASIB 16/1 Will no doubt be fitter for his recent run and his yard have been amongst the winners of late so is not one to rule out now back down in trip. FULL INTENTION 5/1 is sure to run another big race and looks set to go close for a duo who love it around here but he does have the burden of top weight and could well be vunerable to something a little better off in the weights. PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH 9/2 was a CD winner on debut and is now sent handicapping on his reappearance. If the yard have this well related sort ready he could well make a mockery of his opening mark.

VERDICT

1ST: PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH 9/2

2ND: MAAKAASIB 16/1

3RD: FULL INTENTION 5/1

Animal Health Trust Celebrating 75 Years Handicap (Class 2) (3YO only)

Mark Johnston holds a decent hand in this one with THOMAS CRANMER 10/1 and TOWN CHARTER 33/1 both going for the Sheikh. Both hold a decent EW chance but of the two i’d be inclined to side with the latter at 33/1 who has a good 5lb claim on board today. PARFAIT 10/1 for Godolphin and J Gosden is the pick of At The Races Hugh Taylor and will no doubt shorten in the market for that, has M Dwyer booked to ride which is a new one for me for connections so will be interesting. EJAABY 10/1 is one we fully expect him to run a big race today for in form trainer Roger Varian. Stepping up in class today but is a likely improver. A chance will be taken for us today however on K Burke’s MUTAHAADY 50/1 a hugely overpriced outsider who will no doubt improve for his reappearance 29 days ago. He didn’t beat a rival home on that occasion but based on his for from last year looks a smart prospect.

VERDICT

1ST: MUTAHAADY 50/1

2ND: EJAABY 10/1

3RD: TOWN CHARTER 33/1

14:55 Haydock 10 Jun 2017

Betway Dash Handicap (Class 3) (4YO plus)

A wide open race with plenty holding chances. Messers Dascombe and Kingscote look likely to be in the mix again with REFLECTOR 9/1 and we have a trio of runners who have been turned out quickly from smart performances in midweek SNAP SHOTS 11/2 , DANDYLEEKIE 11/1 and ECCLESTON 13/2 who based on the jockey bookings looks to be the pick of the O Meara brace. Our money however will be chanced on rising star John Butlers TOOFI 12/1 who has been largely disappointing since joining the yard but is back in more suitable company today from a falling mark.

VERDICT

1ST: TOOFI 12/1

2ND: ECCLESTON 13/2

3RD: REFLEKTOR 9/1

15:10 Chester 10 Jun 2017

Liverpool Gin Handicap (Class 3) (3YO only)

A nice looking race with most of those holding chances getting the luck of the draw. KHAMAARY 9/4 is the favourite here and rightly so on the form to date, he is saddled with top weight however so could be vunerable along with CASIMIRO 5/1 . Of the Richard Fahey pairing STARLIGHT ROMANCE 6/1 looks the most likely based on jockey bookings. ITSAKINDOFMAGIC 12/1 has been given a mountain to climb from stall 10 today and will be one for another day. SUBATOMIC 7/1 looks set to pounce from near the bottom of the weights for top connections. Will come on for his reappearance and should give these lot something to think about.

VERDICT

1ST: SUBATOMIC 7/1 (IWAC)

2ND: KHAMAARY 9/4

3RD: STARLIGHT ROMANCE 6/1

Betway Pinnacle Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) (Class 1) (4YO plus)

BATEEL 5/2 holds favouritism here and will no doubt be in the shake up under the vastly experienced R Kingscote. She made a pleasing return to action for his new yard when runner up in a group 3 event over in Chantilly and looks a major player once more. ISLAND REMEDE 16/1 gives H De Bromhead his first ever runner at the track so will be an interesting one. RETURN ACE 12/1 makes his seasonal reappearance for J Fanshawe who has had a good time of it lately but he will need to be ready and improved to win this but cant be ruled out. DUBKA 13/2 was 6th on reappearance behind runaway winner AJMAN PRINCESS 3/1 but she was not given a hard time of it and i’d expect to see them closer today.

VERDICT

1ST: BATEEL 5/2

2ND: AJMAN PRINCESS 3/1

3RD: RETURN ACE 12/1

15:40 Newmarket 10 Jun 2017

John Sunley Memorial Handicap (Class 2) (4YO plus)

JAAMEH 9/2 heads the market and looked to have a bit in hand last time out. Has been raised 7lb today though so a repeat perfomance in better company looks a tough ask so will need to improve. BATTS ROCK 7/1 is a lightly raced sort so is open to possible improvement sneaking in here on bottom weight so could well be in the shake up if forgiven the latest perfomance. CAPE COVA 8/1 can be forgiven his latest reappearance run as conditions were not ideal that day and the removal of blinkers which are refitted today did not work. Was a progressive sort last term and could spring a suprise today.

VERDICT

1ST: CAPE COVA 8/1 (NAP)

2ND: BATTS ROCK 7/1

3RD: JAAMEH 9/2

16:05 Haydock 10 Jun 2017

Betway John Of Gaunt Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (4YO plus)

BRETON ROCK 10/3 is an old favourite of ours and is sure to go well here today, he is one of two runners who carry slight penalties however so along with JALLOTA 11/2 could well be vunerable. ABSOLOUTELY SO 8/1 looks to be coming to the boil and will put in another decent run providing that he is not to free this time round. SO BELOVED 7/1 looks the pick of the O Meara pairing and is another who is coming to the boil so should aquit himself well here today but our pick is MITCHUM SWAGGER 7/2 who has to be respected under top jockey Ryan Moore now back in more suitable company.

VERDICT

1ST: MITCHUM SWAGGER 7/2

2ND: SO BELOVED 7/1

3RD: ABSOLOUTELY SO 8/1
